Old Buckenham uses its brains

Village team does well in county quiz
Six people from Old Buckenham travelled out last night, through the hail and lightning, to take part in the annual WI Advisors Quiz in Hethersett Village Hall. This is a county-wide competition with teams of six, mainly members of the Women's Institute, and the team from Old Buckenham has done reasonably well in earlier years.
Playing under the name of "Buckenham Brains" the team was up against eighteen other teams from all over Norfolk. This year they managed to be the outright winners scoring 160 points out of maximum possible score of 180. Perhaps it was the judicious playing of their joker meaning that they doubled their score on a round where they got all the answers right or it could have been the fish and chip supper that enhanced their brain activity.
Here are team members Barbara, Sheila, Doris, Susan and Alison smiling after the competition had finished. The blog editor was the other member of the team but he, of course, was taking the photograph.
